In the Old Town of Palma de Mallorca, in a building of more than 250 metres and 4 floors, the local studio of Angel Martin chose sober furniture, handcrafted ceramics and iconic design pieces to give warmth to the new home of a Swedish couple. The aim was not to distort the classic spirit of the architecture, so objects with character were chosen, sober, that would not clash with the space, such as the vintage coffee table in the living room, the sofa and armchairs with a traditional drop or the handcrafted ceramics by the island artist Jaume Roig, who is also the author of the two large works in the living room. We have sought the continuity of the furniture with the architecture that houses it so as not to distort his work but, on the contrary, to wrap it up and bring it to life through natural textiles, noble materials and a sparse but homogeneous palette of colours. The result is a serene, warm home, in which the stairs and walls, sometimes rounded, nuance and soften the power of the architecture thanks to the wood cladding and furniture designed to envelop it.
